“Many patients aren’t educated on the effectiveness of Acupuncture and Chinese medicine with treating side effects of chemotherapy. This innovation would allow the patients to be treated without utilizing too much energy to gain access to the therapeutic effects. This would help to introduce patients and other practitioners in the western part of the world to the beneficial effects of acupuncture and Chinese herbal therapy when helping with side effects.
The approach would be utilizing the techniques of Chinese medicine which consist of acupuncture and herbal therapy; to help the patient feel relief from side effects of chemotherapy such as nausea, vomiting, reduced appetite and fatigue or prevent these side effects from chemotherapy from occurring. Treatment would be dependent on patient’s presentation and manifestations and would also be changed according to the changes in presentation.”

“Hyperthyroid patient diagnosed with Grave’s Disease after having Novel Corona Virus-19 (COVID) in Spring of 2022. Grave’s Disease is an autoimmune thyrotoxicosis of an overactive (hyper) thyroid. This patient has never been medicated for their hyperthyroidism and 3 weeks after recovering from mild case of COVID began experiencing debilitating fatigue, hand joint and knee pain, headache, hand tremors, muscle fatigue, insomnia, loss of appetite and weight loss. I saw this patient for 5 sessions between July and September and their pulses changed drastically, less excessive and more moderate. Patient reported less hand tremors, more muscle strength and getting better sleep.”

“The patient did not initially believe that acupuncture could help her chronic fatigue and mostly was in for pain relief. After a few treatments, she went from thinking about Chinese Medicine as a last resort to recommending friends and family to try acupuncture. It has changed her life. Patient was thrilled and excited about meeting a friend for dinner as she stated she hadn’t been able to have a social life in years. She is now able to spend time with her family, play with her grandchildren, work efficiently, not have to rely on her prescribed drugs, and feel happy again.”
